As of last Friday, London's Fashion Week has started and yesterday, it was Topshop's turn to show us what they have for us next season.
Since we're not in London, we watched the show via the livestream that first started with a backstage look where you could see all the models getting ready for the show. A good way to put us in the mood since it was early in Canada; you could definitely feel the excitement!
But the original and modern part about that show is that, as you were watching the models walking down the catwalk, you could also have a look from the model's bags : Each bag had a camera in it, and it was as if you were the one walking; it gave a whole new dimension to the show!
We selected our favorite outfits to show you what went down yesterday, but if you want to watch the full show, click here.
The lovely Cara Delevingne opened the show and from the first pieces of you could spot a minimalist style, and god knows how much we love minimalist fashion. The first part of the show was all black/grey shaded but they managed to play with the different materials which was really clever; it gave each outfits a simple yet bold note.
Warm colors slowly took over along with modern patterns; it gave a grown-up/woman-ish tone to the show
At that point of the show, you kind of get the whole strategy and how the shows was organized. Suddenly, we got back to darkest colors and very simple & comfortable outfits. Winter kind of took over! We loved the black coat, it looks so warm and comfy!
Back to patterns, this time floral! Simple cuts and light colors, a perfect combo.
We really loved how they pulled off long skirts and the coats are to die for! Long skirts can make you look prudish, but that wasn't the case here; instead it came out très chic.
And then came our favorite part, touch a pink : Very pale & light pink, winning! Especially the long pink skirt, a modern and sparkly version of the one in Grease, love it!
We really digged the long coat too, gives you this independent and accomplished woman look
The last part of the show was very sparkly, mostly night outfits. Once again, we adored the coats and the cropped tops with the long skirts, it gave a great closure to the show...
Winter is not over yet and yes we are looking forward to Spring and Summer, but the Topshop show really excited us for the next Fall/Winter! We've always loved Topshop because it gives people the opportunity to be stylish for affordable prices and hope someday Montreal will get an actual shop!
And because you should never take yourself too seriously...
